Licensed Membership

APHC LICENSED MEMBERSHIP

Licensed Membership is operated by APHC Ltd. and is reserved for plumbing and heating businesses that work to defined trading standards and have appropriate levels of insurance.  Licensed members must also ensure that only competent plumbers and heating engineers are employed to undertake plumbing and heating work.

APHC Licensed Membership is a one stop shop for business development. If you need a specialist business advisor, lawyer, technical expert or marketing assistant, APHC membership is here to support you.
 

1. Win more business

The APHC logo can be used by members to visually differentiate yourself from competitors and rogue traders. Members are entitled to use the appropriate APHC logos on stationery, websites, vehicles and workwear to promote your membership status.

We have also designed a ‘Why use an APHC member’ flyer to reassure customers of your professionalism and of the benefits of employing an APHC member. We provide this digitally and send you physical copies free of charge.

Members are exclusively listed on our online directory ‘Find an APHC member’ for free. This directory receives daily search requests by homeowners and get over 16,000 hits on this page per year.

2. Free unlimited technical advice

No matter what issue may come your way you can be confident that together we can help find a solution through our free technical helpline, business guides and document templates. Our business support can help you to make more informed business decisions whilst having the back-up in place if you need it.

Your customers can also use our free conciliation service where we aim to swiftly resolve disputes with an amicable outcome for all parties involved which takes the stress and worry out of any potential complaints.

4. Access new and growing markets

You can join our Free Water Regulations Certification Scheme to ensure compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and make yourself more competitive when applying for tenders.

We also run a Legionella Risk Assessment and Disinfection Scheme which helps you to demonstrate that you understand the risks associated with legionella, are able to implement a risk assessment and carry out remedial action where necessary.

5. Skills and knowledge development

We operate a training reward scheme which allows up to 100 plumbing and heating companies per year to claim a £175 contribution towards the cost of a plumbing or heating certificated training course completed through a recognised provider.

You can also develop and grow your business through our training provider partners who offer various plumbing and heating courses.

6. Information on key industry developments

You are kept up to date and receive first hand information through a trusted source via our quarterly glossy Hot & Cold magazine, regular email newsletters, quarterly e-bulletins and daily social media posts on X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
